Lincoln Elementary students had the opportunity to read to Junie the Dog! Junie is a therapy dog with Pet Partners, an organization where pets are trained to become therapy pets. These therapy animals visit schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and workplaces. Therapy animals are proven to significantly enhance well-being and have a positive effect on mental and social emotional wellbeing. The students loved having Junie visit their school.

On October 31, the Cudahy High School Band had the opportunity to work with Jim Piela, a saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator based in New York City. He holds a graduate degree in Jazz Performance from NYU and hails from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin! Mr. Peila constantly walks the tightrope between order and chaos in his exploration of what it means to be a jazz musician. 🎷🎼
Mr. Peila worked with students on musicianship, what eight minutes of daily practice could do for our program, and what it is like to be a jazz musician living in New York City today. He gave students insight on how to prepare for their upcoming winter concert on Thursday, December 5th. Students enjoyed working with Mr. Piela and thought his knowledge was valuable as we move forward in our studies.

It was a spooky afternoon for the Middle School dance last week! Students enjoyed dressing up in costumes, music, and dancing!
